Application Procedures
Application Request for the Training Grant
Thank you for your interest in our training grant in aging-related research. We have a number of positions available on our grant for which you may compete. For post-doctoral positions, in particular, in addition to the usual application information, we also examine the relevance of the proposed research goals towards the field of aging. Please note that all pre-doctoral positions and most, although not all, post-doctoral positions are funded by our National Institute on Aging training grant (Genetic Approaches to Aging), and so there are U.S. permanent residency limitations for support from this source. The University of Washington stresses equal opportunity and affirmative action in recruiting qualified minority candidates. The training grant invites applications from individuals who are interested in being considered for this program. To begin the process, please provide our office with:
- A Letter discussing the prior research experiences and current research goals, including a statement concerning the relevance of the proposed research to the biology of aging.
- A resume or Curriculum Vitae (an original not e-mailed). Please include information on your citizenship. If you are not a U.S. citizen, please give information on your permanent resident status.
- Three letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with your work as a scientist. Please have your referees send their letters directly to this office.
- A transcript of your graduate school record.
- Copies of any relevant scientific papers (published or in press).
- Your full mailing address, day and evening phone numbers, FAX number and when available, your e-mail address.
The University of Washington is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer.
